Check out Sage Student Bistro for a student-ran restaurant with daily specials and a delicious rotating menu!

ABOUT
Sage Student Bistro is more than just a restaurant—it’s a dynamic classroom where the next generation of culinary professionals refine their craft. Operated by students of the Institute for the Culinary Arts at Metropolitan Community College, Sage provides hands-on experience in the art of cooking, baking, and hospitality service. The menu is inspired by the American Sages project, an initiative that celebrates legendary figures in American regional cuisine.
Each quarter, they highlight influential chefs whose contributions have shaped the culinary landscape, integrating their philosophies, techniques, and signature ingredients into the curriculum. Every dish served at Sage is student-prepared, Sage-driven, and designed to offer an elevated dining experience while paying homage to the great American chefs who inspire young chefs across the nation.
MENU
At Sage Student Bistro, lunch services offer a standard menu with a small plate concept and daily specials, while dinner features thoughtfully curated tasting menus that change every two weeks, each inspired by a different American Sage. During our visit, the menu began with starters of veal sweetbreads and winter vegetables. For entrees, there was Rainbow Trout, Roasted Duck Breast, and Beef Strip Loin. For desserts, we could choose from Amaretto Semifreddo, Pavlova, and Dark Chocolate Tart.
The Sage Student Bistro also serves wine and beer at dinner. They have a beverage list featuring red and white wines, as well as an assortment of local and imported beers. If you have a special bottle of wine you would like to enjoy, corking service is available for just $10 per 750 ml bottle.
