Gather in Omaha: Vertical Urban Farm

Get the freshest greens from the Gather in Omaha Urban Farm!

ABOUT GATHER

Gather in Omaha is an urban farm-to-table restaurant in the Old Market serving modern-eclectic American cuisine. While the food and cocktails are off the charts, Gather is also known for its vertical urban farm located right below the dining room.

WHAT IS A VERTICAL URBAN FARM?

A vertical urban farm is an innovative way to produce food in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way. It reduces distribution chains to offer lower emissions, providing higher-nutrient produce, and drastically reducing water usage and runoff.

The Gather Urban Farm grows varieties of greens and incredibly fresh produce that goes from farm to table in just minutes. Using an urban farm also increases cleanliness, purity, and dependability, since it's a self-contained environment.

The plants are grown year-round and can produce 10 times more food than a conventional farm. The water is recycled through reverse osmosis and reduces water usage by 95% compared to traditional farms. Gather also never use herbicides, pesticides or chemicals.

WHAT GATHER GROWS

In the vertical urban farm, Gather grows arugula, basil, benefine frisee endive, chives, kale-abration, mint, mustard greens, wasabi mustard greens, flat-leaf parsley, powerhouse leafy romaine, premium mixed greens, ruby red orach, romaine lettuce, and watercress.

WHERE TO BUY YOUR GREENS

Outside of Gather, you can purchase this urban farm-fresh produce at Wholner's Neighborhood Grocery & Deli in Midtown — or just stop by their tent at the farmer's market each weekend this summer!
