Chalco Hills Recreation Area, located in southwest Omaha, is a top outdoor spot for anyone wanting to get out in nature before the weather gets cold! They offer plenty of activities, like fishing at Wehrspann Lake—a 245-acre reservoir known for catch-and-release bass, catfish, walleye, and more. You can also enjoy over 7 miles of trails for biking, hiking, or jogging, or just kick back at a picnic site. They are also dog friendly with both leashed and unleashed areas, so bring your four-legged companion to explore the Rec Area with!

HIKING AND BIKING TRAILS Chalco Hills Recreation Area features over 7 miles of scenic trails that are perfect for both hiking and biking, with options to fit different activity levels. You can take on the North Loop, which covers 4.5 miles, or go for the Full Loop at 7.2 miles to explore even more of the beautiful landscape. Plus, if you don’t have your own bike, Heartland Bike Share makes it easy to rent one right on site, so you can hit the trails and enjoy a day of adventure. LOCATION & HOURS Chalco Hills is located at 8901 S 154th Street in Papillion and is open seven days a week from 6am-10pm each day!
