Omaha Public Library Offers Books, Digital Resources, Creative Spaces, and Community Programs for All Ages Across the City!
ABOUT
Omaha Public Library is a citywide system with 14 branches giving the community easy access to books, audiobooks, online databases, and learning tools for all ages. It’s more than just a place to check out books, OPL also offers digital design labs, 3D printing, and spaces to hang out and connect with others. They also host book clubs, story times, workshops, and community events all year long!
If you live in Douglas County, library cards are free and work at any OPL branch. If you live outside the county, you can still get a card, just check their website to see what your options are.
The new Omaha Central Library off Dodge is officially open, offering three stories of books, technology, and community spaces. The library is also partnering with Do Space, Omaha’s free technology library, now integrated into the building, providing access to classes, workshops, and the latest technology! Check it out now!
LIBRARY CARDS AND DISCOVERY PASSES
Getting a library card is easy. You can download the form here, fill it out, and bring it to your nearest branch, or just stop in and fill one out there. Library cards are free for all Douglas County residents and work at every OPL location. With a card, you can check out up to 40 items at a time, including books, CDs, and DVDs.
OPL also offers Discovery Passes that give you access to some of Omaha’s favorite attractions, like the Omaha Zoo, The Durham Museum, the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum, The Rose Theater, Fontenlle Forest, and more. These passes are a great way to explore the city and try something new, and you can reserve one online here!
