Lauritzen Gardens is Omaha’s premier botanical center. They offer over 100 acres of natural beauty at every turn and provide an array of activities to explore. With unique four-season plant displays, educational experiences, and a beautiful conservatory, this is a great spot to check out during the summer months with friends, family, or even by yourself to get in tune with nature!
NEW CONSERVATORY
Lauritzen Gardens Conservatory reopened this past September with a fresh new look, featuring all new plant collections and rare and remarkable plants from around the world. Housed inside a stunning glass conservatory, it’s the perfect place to visit year-round, especially during the cooler months. With rotating seasonal displays, vibrant greenery, and dramatic water features, the conservatory offers a bright and peaceful escape from the cold and gray winter days!
This 17,500 square feet conservatory is filled with tropical gardens, soaring palms, vibrant flowers, and moss-covered oak trees. It’s a whimsical and peaceful escape right in the heart of Omaha. They even have a ten-foot-tall waterfall and a large pool of stunning Victoria water lillies. With rotating seasonal displays throughout the year, there’s always something new to see, making it a spot you can visit again and again no matter the season.
EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
Lauritzen Gardens hosts a wide range of event, and activities for the whole family. With summer camps, family scavenger hunts, yoga in the gardens, dog-walking nights, antique shows, Storywalks, and other roving displays, there is always something to catch at the gardens. Field trips, birthday parties, weddings, and events are also hosted at the gardens.
SOFIA’S PLAY GARDEN
Sofia’s Play Garden at Lauritzen Gardens is a whimsical, nature-inspired play space that is thoughtfully designed to ignite wonder, spark curiosity, and encourage hands-on exploration. Created with children in mind, it offers a unique blend of interactive features that seamlessly combine learning with play. From hidden pathways and playful structures to sensory-rich experiences and natural elements, every corner invites discovery and imagination to the next generation! Sofia’s Play Garden is included with general garden admission, and free for Lauritzen Gardens members!
PLAN YOUR VISIT
Omaha visitors can purchase an annual membership or a one-time ticket. Admission is available in advance for guests and garden members. Tickets are valid for a single date and guests can arrive at any time during the day. Tickets start at $18 for adults (age 13 – 65), $15 for seniors (age 65+), $11 for children (age 3 – 12), and free for children 2 and under. There is a discount for military including Veterans, Retirees, and their children, tickets for military start at $15 for adults (age 13 – 65) and $9 for children (age 3 – 12). Narrated tram tours are offered, as well as an on-site cafe and gift shop. LOCATION & HOURS
Lauritzen Gardens is located right near the Omaha/Council Bluffs border at 100 Bancroft St. The gardens are open daily from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory closes at 4:00 PM on Wednesday afternoons for collection maintenance.
