Bringing Stories and Community to Life at Film Streams!

ABOUT

Calling all film lovers, grab your popcorn, settle into your seat, and get ready for an evening of art, cinema and discussion at Film Streams. This nonprofit is dedicated to enhancing the cultural environment in Omaha by showcasing film as an art form. Every title is carefully selected for its artistic, creative, and social impact, making each visit a memorable experience.

Beyond the screen, Film Streams hosts a variety of events including thought-provoking discussions, educational programs, and special events that celebrate culture and creativity. Whether you visit their historic Dundee location (Omaha’s longest surviving neighborhood cinema), or the Ruth Sokolof Theatre located downtown, Film Streams is the perfect place to connect with stories that inspire and spark meaningful conversations.

PROGRAMS

Film Streams offers a wide range of programs designed for audiences of all ages. Catch brand-new releases from independent filmmakers, groundbreaking documentaries, and international films making their theatrical debut in Omaha. Revisit timeless classics on the big screen with the highest-quality 35mm prints, or dive deeper into cinema through year-round educational programs that feature guided discussions and film analysis.

They also offer special events that bring even more to the experience. These events include Q&As with filmmakers, silent films, and live musical performances. For students and lifelong learners, Film Streams also provides daytime screenings and educational courses, making it easy to bring the art of film into any classroom or group setting.

SUPPORT

As a nonprofit, Film Streams thrives thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, fundraising efforts, and its wonderful membership program. Becoming a member not only supports the theaters, but also comes with exclusive perks, like discounted tickets, 20% off concessions, and early access to special event tickets.

If you want to get more involved, Film Streams is always welcoming new volunteers to help with ticketing, seating, special events, and marketing. In return, volunteers enjoy a free movie pass to any regular film screening plus complimentary popcorn and fountain drinks!
