The Omaha Comedy Festival is dedicated to comedy and community, bridging the cultural divide with comedic relief, and lifting the human spirit through laughter.
Our goal is to establish Omaha as the Midwestern destination for established and emerging comedic talent by connecting communities through shared live experiences, attracting new audiences to the metro, offering comedic education for those craving a creative outlet, and celebrating humor in all its expressions.
In 2013, Dylan Rohde, founder, and owner of The Backline Comedy Theater, started the Omaha Improv Festival to share his love of improv comedy with Omaha. Year by year this grassroots festival grew by leaps and bounds, After 2019 it was rebranded as the Omaha Comedy Festival as more and more eclectic comedic talent sought out this midwestern mecca of comedy. This year will be the festival’s most ambitious year with plans to showcase over 70 acts all over the Omaha metro area.
