Joslyn Castle & Gardens and Metropolitan Community College are partnering once again for the 17th Annual Art & Literary Festival. This year we delve into the darkness in an exploration of Gothic Art and Literature!

Our festival offers the public engagements with literature, theater, local art, expert lectures, live music, and more!

Guests will travel through the halls of Omaha’s own Victorian Castle, each room revealing a different vignette.

The dramatic production includes scenes from three iconic works of Gothic fiction. A young mother writes about her isolation and anxiety in The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. In Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw, a governess shares her confusion and fear of evil influences. The final chapter of Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous novella is titled “Henry Jekyll’s Full Statement of the Case” and is the final confession of the doctor.
