More Info

July 17th from 5 – 8pm start your evening at @joslyncastle with three events open to the public!

On the lawn, guests can enjoy live music by @bluesed_omahayouth bands, @bluesundayblues and @officialvertigobluesband. There will also be a Healing Arts vendor fair!

@lala.exhibitions Artist, @danadamewoodphotography, will have a photo exhibition throughout the first floor of the Castle.

After cooling off in the Castle, kids can partake in Skateboarding lessons presented by @thebayoma! The Bay OMA, a Benson-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will be on-site facilitating free skateboarding demos and lessons for youth ages 18 and under, with rental skateboards and helmets available at no extra cost. A signed liability waiver must be completed by a parent/guardian on-site or ahead of the Third Thursday Art Walk by visiting https://bit.ly/thebaywaiver.

Stop by the newly opened side of the Carriage House for a Poetry Pause to welcome our recent district partners, the @nepoetrysociety! You’ll hear two local poets—one seasoned and one just starting to make waves—read their work and chat about why they write. It’s a great place to sit down, cool off, and enjoy something a little different. The poetry is thoughtful, fun, and totally family-friendly, and you’ll even have the chance to ask the poets questions.

July Poets: Todd Robinson and Luke Koesters
@_toddfather666 is a beloved Omaha poet and educator with books from Backwaters Press and Main Street Rag, and decades of teaching and community leadership. Luke is a queer, Asian-American poet and MFA candidate whose work explores identity and expression through a contemporary lens.

Bring the entire family every third Thursday in the Joslyn Castle neighborhood along 40th Street, between Dodge and Cuming Streets. District partners Cathedral Arts Project Omaha, Cali Commons, Joslyn Castle & Gardens, and the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood Association, are looking forward to opening up our venues for an evening of art, food, and fun!
