If you’re anything like us, visiting new coffee shops and cafes is one of the best parts of any city. Lucky for us, Omaha is home to a huge lineup of amazing, unique coffee shops. Here is our (hopefully pretty comprehensive) guide to Omaha’s coffee shops!

We’ve included each coffee shop’s Instagram handle or website, location, and helpful details to make your hunt for your favorite cuppa joe a little easier. On your marks, get set, caffeinate!

Aksarben Village’s go-to coffee roaster. Grab a flavored latte and a warm bagel with savory cream cheese before heading over to the farmer’s market.

Howlin’ Hounds | @howlinhounds

Located in Hanscom Park, Howlin’ Hounds is known for fun flavors like their blueberry iced latte and tasty bakery items that make for a sweet start to your morning!

Located inside the Cottonwood Hotel in Blackstone, this small coffee shop has a full coffee menu & pastries.

Primary Coffee | @primarycoffee_co

Primary Coffee is a La Vista cafe serving up specialty drinks like the blueberry waffle latte or the iced banana bread latte. Don’t worry, they also have all the classics if you’re looking for your go-to caffeine fix on your way to work!

Fig. Cafe | @figomaha

Fig Café, located downtown connected to Kiewit Luminarium, is a bright daytime cafe serving up delicious coffee alongside fresh-baked pastries and sandwiches.

Located inside the Dundee Film Streams theater, Lola’s is a crowd favorite cafe in the neighborhood. They offer brunch, sandwiches, salads, dinner courses, a wine bar — and arguably the best vanilla latte in Omaha.

Edge of the Universe | @edgeuniversebff

Edge of the Universe is a themed cafe in Benson with fun events like bingo, trivia nights and board game nights! Menu items vary based on the theme of the cafe or seasonal flavors.

Stories Coffee Co. | @storiescoffeecompany

Stories Coffee Co. is a great space to work in (there are even meeting rooms), or to enjoy the company of friends. With a full menu complete with soups, salads, sandwiches, cheeseboards, and desserts, it’s not just a coffee shop! But never fear: there are all the standard coffee house drinks, made with their locally roasted beans.

This neighborhood coffee shop offers 32 unique roasts inspired by Omaha neighborhoods, plus a cozy patio, drive-through, and a menu full of coffee, tea, smoothies, and fresh bakery bites.

Cup & Cone | @cupandcone_bennington

A family-run, community-driven and ready to serve happiness to you, your friends and family. The philosophy? That every day should start with coffee and end with ice cream. We can’t argue with that!

Blue Line Coffee | @bluelinecoffeeomaha

A community staple in Dundee, Blue Line is a cozy hideout for hours of reading or work time, complimented by an affordable yet tastefully crafted fair-trade coffee.

Astute Coffee | @astute_coffee

What was known as the Bike Union, Astute Coffee is the new iteration of the bike and coffee shop in Downtown Omaha (sans bikes). All while serving delicious drinks, Astute is a social enterprise offering workforce and personal development to young adults impacted by foster care.

Urban Abbey | @urbanabbey

Urban Abbey is a progressive church, book store and coffee shop in the Old Market. The coffee shop side of Urban Abbey has a large coffee menu with your standard coffees, blended frappes, smoothies, tea, chai, and matcha. They also have a section called ‘Coffee for Justice Seeking People’ with coffee names like ‘smashing the patriarchy a latte’ (blackberry, white mocha, hazelnut) and ‘The RGB’ (black and white mocha).

Fariner Bakery | @farinerbakery

Fariner Bakery is a small batch bakery, coffee shop, market and wine merchant just 30 minutes from Omaha! The European bakery and coffee shop is tucked away in quaint downtown Ashland with a menu that varies weekly (but always has AMAZING pastries!)

Coffee Society Cafe | @coffeesocietycafe

Coffee Society Cafe is a family-owned coffee shop and cafe in La Vista, Nebraska. With an indie feel, this up-and-coming Cafe as quickly became a favorite amongst those in La Vista. They offer coffee, tea, snacks, sandwiches, salads and more—anything you could need for a study session. On top of having a sit-down cafe inside, Coffee Society also has a Drive-Thru where you can snag a coffee on the way to work!

The Mill | @themillcoffeeandtea

The Mill offers locally-made sandwiches and vegetarian wraps, baked goods and desserts, a large selection of gourmet candies and chocolate, and of course a full line of coffee and tea related supplies and hardware available for purchase! This is a great spot to study or even grab a late night drink. It has beer on tap, cocktails, and wine as well as classic fresh-roasted coffee and fine teas.

The Wandering Page is a classic coffee shop x bookstore spot in the Blackstone District that is perfect for browsing books with a delicious coffee in hand!

A family owned and operated Latina coffee shop offering a variety of specialty drinks from Iced Horchatas and sweet snacks to coffee shop classics like cold brews, Matcha and Lavender Lattes!

The Grind Coffeehouse includes traditional favorites such as coffee, tea and lattes, along with treasured recipes for blended beverages. Moon Hollow Coffee has both a coffee lounge and a drive through for coffee on the go. In addition to their delicious drinks and pastries, they offer a variety of greeting cards, small gifts, and an assortment of oils and incense. They also have a great party room for those planning special events, which is perfect for bridal showers, luncheons, networking events, graduation parties and more!

Tous Les Jours | @tlj.omaha

Tous Les Jours is a South Korean bakery experience full of decadent baked goods and handcrafted beverages. “Tous Les Jours” is French for “every day,” signifying all of the baked goods that are baked fresh every single day. The bakery is self-serve, so you can grab bread, pastries, and other items while you order drinks and cakes at the counter. They also have a great patio to enjoy a coffee with friends!

Legend Comics and Coffee | @legendcomicsandcoffee

With a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, Legend Comics and Coffee is a great place to browse hundreds of thousands of comics and collectibles while sipping on a drink with friends. Legend Comics was also the winner of Will Eisner Spirit of Retailers Award in 2014 — which is an award that they shared with an Australian store for the best comic shop in the world!

The Grove Juicery | @thegrovejuicery

The Grove Juicery offers three locations around Omaha including Aksarben, Downtown and West Omaha serving up delicious cold-pressed juices, smoothies and yes coffee! Grab one of their acai bowls or a slice of avocado toast for the perfect start to your morning!

Cafe Botanica | @cafe.botanica.heartland

Whether you want to work, study, or meet up with friends, Cafe Botanica is a great spot to indulge in a newly expanded menu of teas, coffee, overnight oats, protein balls, and more delicious (and healthy) food options. All their ingredients are locally sourced, and pride themselves on not only being healthy, but super yummy!

Amateur Coffee | @amateurcoffee

Amateur Coffee is a 100% vegan coffee parlor with a mission to be as sustainable as possible. They offer a variety of delicious gluten free and vegan pastries, yet you would never know the difference! They also roast all of their coffees right in the parlor, providing Omaha with a hidden gem of a coffee shop.

Cafe Ohana | @cafeohana.omaha

Transport to the island of your dreams with tropical themed coffees and pastries. Cafe Ohana’s menu is simple, yet unique and perfectly crafted to serve up delicious coffees, iced lattes, refreshers, matcha, snacks and pastries with an Island twist. We highly recommend trying a coffee or refresher flight so you can grab a taste of everything and find your favorite!

Village Grinder is a beloved community coffee shop in Countryside Village. With a small shop with gifts and other goods, and a fun menu full of seasonal beverages and tasty treats, this is a great place to catch up over a cuppa joe.

The Beanery | @thebeaneryne

The go-to coffee house for Omaha, Gretna, Ashland and Papillion, the Beanery has four locations and a mobile coffee truck serving loads of tasty coffee drinks and smoothies. Great for on-the-go fuel for a trip out west!

Owned by the same founders of Roast Coffee, Hill of Beans is a roastery dedicated to sourcing exceptional beans, roasting them to perfection, and delivering a welcoming, down-to-earth coffee experience—no pretension, just really great coffee for really great people!

Hay Jay is a coffee shop & cafe in Northwest Omaha! They’ve got all your standard favorites, plus some specialties, like a white raspberry mocha, bulletproof coffee, and seasonal drinks.

Godega Market, with locations downtown and in Aksarben, is part convenience store and part coffee shop, serving everything from classic lattes to boozy coffee cocktails alongside your favorite snacks!

Sozo Coffee House | @sozoomaha

Sozo Coffeehouse is one of Omaha’s largest coffee shops. With pool tables, study rooms, and a small stage, it’s a favorite for late-night studying or game nights.

The Table is a cozy and inviting space in the Old Market serving specialty coffee, tea, and other beverages. They’re also known for their trademark Heavenly Waffles and homemade desserts!

Karma Koffee | @karma_koffee

Karma Koffee is a West Omaha cafe serving up ‘coffee, community, and contemplation.’ Menu items include classic coffee offerings, as well as fun flavored drinks with cosmic names, like the Ying and Yang (espresso, milk, dark and white chocolate sauce), or the Zen Chakra (espresso, milk, lavender and honey).
