ABOUT
Election Day is November 3rd, and we want to make sure you have everything you need to be ready to vote in the 2026 Midterm Election! If you still need to register to vote or want to double-check that your registration is up to date, we’ve put together an easy guide for Nebraska voters. Check out everything you need to know about registering, important deadlines, voter ID requirements, and more before heading to the polls!
REGISTRATION
There are two important dates to remember for registration!
October 16th: Last day to register to vote online or by mail
October 23rd: Last day to register to vote in person
Not sure if you’re registered to vote? Check your status through Nebraska’s VoterCheck at https://www.votercheck.necvr.ne.gov/VoterView. Nebraska does not offer Election Day registration, so be sure to get registered ahead of time!
WHERE TO VOTE
There are plenty of polling locations around Omaha, and where you vote is based on your registration address. You can find your polling place by visiting https://www.votedouglascounty-ne.gov. If you recently moved, double-check that your voter registration lists your current address so you know exactly where to go on Election Day!
WHAT TO BRING TO THE POLLS
If you are planning to vote in person, be sure to bring an acceptable photo ID, like a Nebraska driver’s license, state ID, U.S. passport, or another approved form of photo ID. Please note that a birth certificate is not an acceptable form of voter ID, and be sure to register to vote PRIOR to heading to the polls!
